I’m often asked by real estate agents about strategies for setting up profiles and what username should be used. Some agents use their names as their username and that’s fine if personal branding is your goal. Another strategy you might consider would be to use some aspect of the term “real estate” as your username as if lends itself well for search engine optimization (SEO). Besides, more consumers spend more time using keywords like (area) real estate than they do searching for a specific agent name as a keyword.
I had one agent ask me about how to select a username when setting up a YouTube account. Unfortunately, most prized YouTube domain names like www.youtube.com/chevychase are typically taken. It certainly doesn’t hurt to double check. I suggested this agent consider the strategy we implemented for Linda Craft long ago http://www.youtube.com/user/raleighrealestate
One thing to note, even those YouTube usernames are quickly going away. One last tip, when creating profiles online, try to use a consistent username everywhere you setup a profile.
See examples below:
http://www.myspace.com/raleighrealestate
In some cases Linda had to select “Raleighhomes” as the Raleighrealestate username was taken.

Here are some examples of consistent use of a username:
· Jay Thompson is the “PHXREGuy” (everywhere) http://www.google.com/search?q=phxreguy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
· I’m “rewebcoach” (everywhere) http://www.google.com/search?q=rewebcoach&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Look around RE.net (engaged social media adopters who are in the Real Estate industry) and you’ll see this principal in place time after time.
A great tool to use to help you determine a username is NameChk http://namechk.com/.
I trust these tips will help you when you are ready to select your username.

If you are wondering what topics your real estate blog should focus on, give this tip a try.
Go to Google.com use the search bar and start typing in your city. You'll quickly see suggested search phrases most often used by searchers. That's called the Google Auto Complete tool and it's an awesome topic tool for real estate bloggers to use for post topics. When using these keyword phrases for post topics always remember to tie that topic back to real estate for the purposes of thematic writing for Google and your readers. Remember, your blog is about real estate and that's why visitors are on your blog. Now you will never suffer from writers block again. Happy blogging, BobbyComments [2]

As we gather in our warm, festive homes to celebrate the wonders of this special time of year with our loved ones, brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces offer their service to protect our country while stationed all over the globe.
Those of us at Dakno Real Estate Marketing wish to honor these courageous members of our military by offering a small token of our appreciation. We could have elected to purchase traditional holiday greeting cards and pay postage to send cards to you, our clients and friends. Instead, we choose to send a few of our military families Christmas gifts during this holiday season. We would like to take this opportunity to extend to our clients, and friends of Dakno Marketing a warm Merry Christmas greeting and send out a wish to each of you to experience a prosperous New Year for 2010! May you and your families be filled with prosperity, health, blessings and depths of love and joy like you have never experienced! All the best, Bobby CarrollComments [0]
